Getting to and from Ljubljana city

Driving

The airport is 28km from the city center, and the most convenient way to drive between the two is via the E31 motorway. The motorway is well signposted in the city and on leaving the airport.

Buses

Bus services to Ljubljana city center from the airport start on weekdays at 5 a.m. Services run on the hour every hour, with the last bus leaving the airport at 8 p.m. Journey time on direct services is approximately 30 minutes.

There is a reduced service on Saturdays and Sundays, with the first bus leaving at 7 a.m. The next service is at 10 a.m., and then every two hours on the hour until 8 p.m.

Private limo services

There are a number of companies offering private limo services to and from the airport. These run to a schedule, with the first service leaving the airport at 6.15 a.m., and the last one leaving at 12.45 a.m.

Taxis

There is a taxi rank outside the terminal building. The fare to the city center is approximately 35 euros. However, if you pre-book a taxi, you can get substantial discounts on the standard fare.

Car hire

All the major car hire companies have desks at the airport. These are open from 8 a.m. until 10 p.m., although some close at 9 p.m. If your Ljubljana flights are arriving outside these hours, you will need to make sure that you will be able to pick up your hire car before confirming your reservation.
